GivingData Cloud is the document management option available with all GivingData subscriptions. It offers unlimited document storage and can be used along with document linking from Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive. With GivingData Cloud, documents are stored in GivingData’s Azure Blob Storage repository, in which each client has their own Azure storage account.
The Online Edit & Sync functionality is also available with GivingData Cloud. If enabled, documents open in a new tab where they can be edited in Microsoft 365. Edits automatically save back to GivingData, and more than one person can edit a document at the same time.
If the Online Edit & Sync functionality is not enabled, click a document in GivingData to download it to your computer, make edits, and then reupload the document.
Contact your Implementation Manager or Client Success Manager to enable GivingData Cloud document management with or without the Online Edit & Sync functionality.
Online Edit & Sync Functionality
A Microsoft 365 subscription is required to enable the Online Edit & Sync functionality. Reach out to your GivingData contact to enable this functionality.
Only documents that can be opened in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint can be edited using this feature. Other file types can still be downloaded, edited, and reuploaded. Document templates must be downloaded, edited, and reuploaded.
The ability for users to view and edit documents is dependent upon the View Documents and Manage Documents permissions for each record type. Users with only the View Documents permission can open a document but cannot enter Edit mode on the document.
- Navigate to the record that contains the document, and then click the Documents tab.
- Click the document Title.
- The document opens in a new Microsoft 365 tab and can be edited.
- Close the tab after making edits. The edits automatically update on the document in GivingData.
